All performance centers across Ducommun competed in the annual Excellence in Innovation competition. Each performance center submitted one project entry that focused on innovation for a new or existing program or process. We are happy to announce the following winners!
Top Honors for the Excellence in Innovation Award goes to the Nobles Worldwide Performance Center for their project for the 50mm Ammunition Handling System and partnership with the U.S. Army on new and upcoming programs. Congratulations Nobles!
Runner Up for the Electronics Group was awarded to the Joplin, MO Performance Center. Joplin introduced a redesign for the electrical fixtures and automated testing / inspection processes for a medical product line utilized for blood transfusions and other therapeutic applications. Congratulations Joplin!
Runner Up for the Structures Group was awarded to the Gardena, Orange and El Mirage, CA (GOREM) Performance Centers. This team achieved optimization of the etchant regeneration process allowing the company to recycle 100% of the chemicals used in the chemical milling process and significantly reducing hazardous waste disposal and reducing environmental footprint. Congratulations GOREM!
