1855 N. Batavia St.
Orange, California 92865
The Orange, California facility of Ducommun AeroStructures was originally a company named Aerochem. This facility has delivered over 30 years of quality service to the aerospace industry, pioneering many innovations including a patented system for reclaiming materials from etchant tanks. This facility has been part of Ducommun since 1981.
The Orange facility makes us the world's largest independent chemical milling company offering the expertise to provide complex "make complete" parts and assemblies to various commercial, military and aerospace industries.
The chemical milling process selectively removes material while maintaining structural strength where needed. Material weight reductions of 75 percent or more and thickness reductions down to .010" or less produce super lightweight yet strong parts. Conventional machining methods render it virtually impossible to lighten complex contour sheet metal parts with the close tolerance results of chemical milling.
Our Orange facility has the ability to chemically mill a wide variety of material families such as aluminums, titaniums and steels. Whether rolled, cast, extruded or formed, Aerochem can chem mill features, size parts, remove weight and/or alpha case.
Using specialized equipment such as 3 and 5 axis NC Laser and an ATA approved 3 axis NC Rout and Drill machine, Ducommun AeroStructures is capable of completing your parts and assemblies. Regardless of what processes your parts need, from the raw material through forming, chem milling, net trimming or final finish our highly skilled personnel will deliver on time with a first time quality acceptance of well over 99%.
