Indirect Shared Service Manager
Summary
The Ducommun Indirect Purchasing Shared Services Manager is a member of the Ducommun AeroStructures and Technologies Supply Chain Management organization reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Management representing leading the centralized procurement team responsible for the purchasing of indirect products and services.
Responsibilities
- Manages team of buyers located at multiple sites in the processing and placement of orders supporting site requirements for maintenance, repair and operations products and services
- Assures effective source selection and contracting in support of business needs for quality, cost, delivery and service of outside products and services
- Leads procurement team, suppliers and internal consumers assuring effective management of expectations and performance
- Works with Ducommun Indirect Commodity Manager to develop and implement total cost improvement strategies
- Uses data and performance metrics to manage supplier performance and work flow
- Establishes lean delivery processes with suppliers such as Kanbans, floor stocking and Just in Time delivery
- Develops and implements process improvements and automation related to planning and procurement processes
- Visits Ducommun facilities and suppliers as needed in support of goals and initiatives
- Evaluates performance of buyers providing regular feedback and developing opportunities for growth
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Mgmt., Business or related area or equivalent experience
- Five years direct procurement experience
- Computer Skills, Microsoft Office
- ERP and/or other procurement system(s) experience
- Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Negotiation skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or mechanical drawings
- Understands and has ability to apply lean manufacturing and supply chain concepts
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, written and verbal skills
- Ability to manage using a data driven and results oriented approach
- Experience using a multiple site procurement system a plus
- ISM or APICS certification desirable
