Supervisor II, Manufacturing - Third Shift

Summary

Setting up and operating standard machine tools, attachments, and other related equipment such as standard and priority weld operations in connection with the production of parts, assemblies and complete units. Typical examples of such machines would be various weld equipment, stretch wrap machines, punch presses, drill presses, gear cutters, shears, grinders and similar tools. May include associated assembly operations, filling, filing aligning and scraping parts and assemblies to meet tolerances and operating requirements.

Qualifications

Two year technical degree in business supervision, management, engineering or equivalent. Three to five years experience setting up and working with fabrication machines/tools. Experience in autoclave a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Organize and assign work to utilize available skills, knowledge and experience, man-hours, machines and tooling to obtain most favorable unit machinery cost, quality and workmanship.
  • Provide instructions and guidance and maintain close surveillance over setup procedures and machining operations.
  • Participate in and coordinate Company programs, e.g., communications, job training, vacation schedules, job evaluation, employee appraisal, wage administration, etc.
  • Maintain conformance with rules and regulations; issue written warning notices and administer approved disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Coordinate inspection and quality control activities as they may be related to work in progress.
  • Maintain the use of safety devices and equipment, general housekeeping, and maintain a constant alert for hazardous conditions and practices.
  • Supervises other supervisors and/or employees with considerable variations in skills and pay.
